The highly successful movie gets a makeover from Saw 8 to Jigsaw. The title for the upcoming horror movie was initially titled ‘Saw Legacy’ but the studio decided to go with ‘Jigsaw’ and released the new logo along with it. The title has been taken from the movies psychotic villain who is played by Tobin Bell. Bell, is all set to reprise his role in the 8th edition event though technically his character died in the 3rd installment. The Saw 8 logo is definitely different and will generate curiously amongst its die-hard followers.
It’s an interesting take as the title suggests a fresh new continuation could be in the works for the franchise as it’s being helmed by Peter and Michael Spierig. The new direction could mean new twists in the movie. As we all know this is one such movie where you can expect the unexpected.
The name gives a lot away, Tobin Bell’s character is loved by many but it isn’t clear at this point if he’ll be back for a full-fledged role or just an important cameo. It seems like they want to target the hardcore Saw lovers as many can’t imagine a movie without ‘Jigsaw’, hence bringing him back is being seen as a marketing move.
Another thing Saw is going for is getting back with the Halloween tradition. For a couple of years, Saw always had Halloween weekend booked as it became a successful series, reaching its 8th edition. The studios and producers felt that the Saw series needs to go back to its roots and go do what they are best at, hence Jigsaw and the Halloween slot.
This movie looks like it’ll be an old-school treat for the fans and will frighten their souls to the core.
