A factory manufacturing counterfeit and below-standard cold drinks was seized and shut down by the Criminal Investigation Department. By brandishing the Pepsi logo, it has been proven that the factory owner, Hasmukh Gohil, has deliberately hurt the trust of the people by intentionally producing substandard versions of the well-reputed and globally famous soft drink. The resulting arrest was part of the raid police had conducted on the factory functioning in the Katargam locality of the city. Along with the Pepsi logo and other labels, a number of other reputed brands were also being manufactured in this under standard industrial unit which has ceased and terminated production, effective immediately.
CID has reported that the raid was arranged after Pepsi complained about copyright violations of its company logo. Since the last three months, the factory has been using the logo design on its bottles which were filled with second-rate, lousy and shoddy quality drinks and circulated in the markets as authentic beverages. More than 40,000 bottles have been seized bearing the Pepsi creative logo. In a statement issued by CID Officials stated that a complaint from Delhi was received and that a particular individual is involved in irreverent activities that were vending and marketing their own products using Pepsi logos designed by professional business logo design services.
Supplies used to create fake and lousy quality refreshment drinks were recovered from the location and at least one person has been arrested with a solid linking to this criminal activity. Further investigation and interrogation are underway and any more details surfacing shall be shared with the public. Apart from that, chemicals were also found that aid in the production of the low-grade inferior drinks.
