On May 23, 2017, A-10 revealed the Atlantic 10 championship logo in preparation for its signature event at the Verizon Center in The USA’s Capital. The 2018 Men’s Basketball Championship Logo was shown to the league’s directors and basketball coaches at the event’s business meeting.
As per the A-10’s Commissioner, the 2018 championship logo epitomizes the exclusive imagery and history of Washington D.C. with the familiar A-10 logo. Also, the unique design represents the absorption of a destination city within the Atlantic 10 footprint, and a significant college basketball competition in an excellent arena.

The primary championship logo includes the USA’s Capitol dome, above the A-10 registered trademark logo as well as a basketball. The logo design completes itself with fourteen stars at the bottom, signifying the fourteen A-10 member schools, and colleges. The Atlantic 10 championship logo, which will be used on all advertising materials, and will also appear on the tournament’s floor, was created by Joe Bosack & Co., a company reputed for sports logos.

2018 will be the first time the nation’s capital will host the A-10 Championship. The home base for the Washington Wizards, the WNBA’s Washington Mystics, the NHL’s Washington Capitals, and the AFL’s Washington Valor – Verizon Center hosts about 220 events every year.
It is pertinent to mention that the Pittsburgh Penguins’ creative team designed the 2017’s Atlantic 10 championship logo since the event took place at the Consol Energy Center in Pennsylvania.

The logo represents the iconic Pittsburgh bridges in gold and black colors that are closely related to city’s sports culture, over a basketball, and the A-10 logo.
People with a keen eye for sports logos would certainly recall the refreshed A-10 registered trademark logo from 2014. It included primary wordmark, secondary styles of that mark, and armor for social media usage. The logo design also integrated revised colors (PMS neutral black and PMS red 485).
