When it comes to innovation, Google takes the lead as it launches the new Google Play Store logo. Despite the fact that the change is minute, it’s hard not to notice when it pops up on your screen! The multicolored triangle inside the gray shopping bag in the Google Play Store Logo got rid of the shopping bag, leaving the triangle icon all alone.
This new icon first appeared last year on Pixel-Google’s new phone, but this design has now been incorporated into other devices as well. Since the Android marketplace came into being, the shopping bag has been present in the Google logo design; which has made this update a sad farewell.
A Google spokeswoman said that it was on their wish list to make the new logo for the Play Store modern, simple and ‘Play-ful’. According to her, they wanted to move on from the perception that the Google Play Store is solely used to play games by introducing a cohesive visual identity through the new Play Store logo.
However, this isn’t the only change in the Google logo; the notifications icon also got a makeover:

The iconic tote bag with the check mark is now gone and has been replaced with a check inside a triangle with the checkmark extending a little beyond the lines. For each of the content stores such as apps, books, and movies, the notification icon will appear in a different color. When multiple apps are downloaded, the notification icon is no longer a stack of blocks; instead it’s the old triangle icon.
To top it off, it’s now easier than ever to delete old apps and there is a free app in the Play Store every week. Google likes to play around with the design so let’s see if the next update in the Google Play Store logo has something even better to offer!
