Google is testing its new bolder and darker Google AMP logo for its mobile search platform. The usual light gray logo might be replaced by the new one after the testing phase. Accelerated mobile pages (AMP) have been the top priority of the company and has managed to amass around 150 million AMP with 4 million additions weekly. The decision to revamp the Google AMP logo comes after company’s increased interest in it to create customer awareness about the platform.
AMP pages are 4 times faster and can load 10 times more data. The publishers using such pages receive higher CTR’s because of the ease-of-access as the average page loads in 1 second. The increased reliance on AMP’s is caused by customer’s objections about mobile user experience. Along with that, it has also boosted mobile web. The initial focus of AMP’s was toward news, however, it has also ventured into e-commerce and other fields.
The revamped Google AMP logo provides a perfect opportunity for the technology giant to gather customer’s attraction towards the platform and ascertain its position in the segment. With escalating competition from Facebook Instant Articles and Apple News, it is a necessary step for the company who wants to assert itself on the technology front.
The new logo design will create a better association with the existing users. Bolder and darker logo will give AMP its well-needed look as it attracts to the younger generation of mobile users. The decision seems to be taken well across all circles at the moment and only time will tell if it is officially acknowledged. Google has always been proactive with providing its users with more aesthetically pleasant stuff. From bringing out google doodle to sticking with minimalism- they have done it all. Will they succeed in pleasing the younger audience like always? Time will tell.
