Cricket South Africa’s President, Chris Nenzani, used the words like “game changer” and “special day in the calendar of this country” when unveiling the T20 Global League logo, at the Wanderers Stadium this week. The T20 global league logo was reveled after much hype and excitement by international sporting industry. The league is set to debut in the last quarter of 2017.
The name of the event was announced to be T20 Global League after some initial predispositions towards naming it T20 Global Destination League. The logo, representing the African continent substituted the word ‘destination’ with a visual reference.
Cricket South Africa T20 Global League logo was fashioned to visually position South Africa as a terminus for global T20 cricket, and entices on the colors of an African sunrise. A hint of red on the horizon exudes a golden glow over the continent, emphasizing the country and its sheer relentlessness.

“It is our duty, as Cricket South Africa, to safeguard the future of the game. By backing a high-value tournament like the new T20 Global League, and investing in synergistic partnerships with key stakeholders, the T20 Global League is perfectly positioned to become an internationally successful sporting event”, said CSA’s President.
While it took them time to figure out the brass tacks, it seems that they are moving ahead in full steam now. The owners of the eight franchises will be announced on June 19 at Lord’s, a day after the Champions Trophy final.

The player draft will be held in August with each team comprising of 17 players on the bench. Eight South African international players will be assigned to franchises in correspondence with their geographical associations. These players include Hashim Amla, Quinton de Kock, AB de Villiers, JP Duminy, Faf du Plessis, David Miller, Kagiso Rabada and Imran Tahir. The South African players also expressed their excitement over the tournament and are counting down the days to its inauguration
