The new Ready Player One which is Steven Spielberg’s adaptation seems like it is going to be one of those movies about which we keep discovering hidden secrets even years after its release. The first surprise it turns out has been there all along since the Ready Player One Movie Logo was released a few weeks ago. Yes, it is the Easter egg which is located inside the letter ‘O’ in ‘ONE’
This logo was designed by the graphic designer Emily Oberman who is working with a design studio named Pentagram. The logo perfectly balances the 80s nostalgia with the near future aesthetics. However, upon a closer inspection you will notice how all the letters are interconnected to make the logo look like a functional maze. If you play along the starting of the first letter ‘R’ you are eventually going to find yourself at the Easter egg hidden inside the letter ‘O’.

This maze pays homage to a 1979 Atari video game named Adventure, which first introduced the world to the now widely popular concept of Easter eggs. The game’s creator, Warren Robinett gave himself the secret hidden credit inside it.
In the original Ready Player One book, it is ‘Adventure’ the video game which is the source of inspiration which the OASIS creator James Halliday needed to generate the contest for his control and fortune of Gregarious Simulation Systems, the business which runs and is basically the boss of the virtual world.

Spielberg’s movie revolves around the virtual reality world of the Oasis, after Halliday passes away and a competition to discover the hidden Easter egg and win Halliday’s entire fortune is launched. Olivia Cooke, TJ Miller, Tye Sheridan, Simon Pegg, Ben Mendelsohn and Mark Rylance will be starring Ready Player One, which is scheduled to release next year.
